BISHOP JOHN HAN DINGXIANG DIES

Filed under: Persecuted — Linda @ 6:12 am

Bishop Johny Han Dingxiang dies while imprisoned in China, from cancer Here.  His last words were:  “to ask his congregation to recite more rosaries.”

In his memory we should pray for daily and stand in solidarity with those whom are still being persecuted because of their faith.  To remember there are many more imprisoned, tortured, and are not allowed the freedom to practice their faith.

Eternal Rest Grant to him O Lord and let Your perpetual Light shine upon him…Amen

May the hearts of Jesus and Mary Bless You.

I am fully aware of the prompting of the Holy Spirit it is in this light I am adding a new dimension to this website. I will bring from time to time places and heroic people whom are being persecuted for being Catholic.

These are religious and laity who stand firm in the Catholic Faith under harsh/cruel treatment. They suffer daily for the Faith. There are also those here in the United States who have suffered jailed time for practicing this Faith of ours. Persecution is not always in the “expected places” but often times in our backyard.

Those who suffer for the Catholic Faith need our prayers and our voices to express outrage since they are made voiceless. They sacrifice so much for this beloved Faith of ours as we should sacrifice for their plight.

As they carry the cross of being persecuted because of the Catholic Faith let us be their Simon of Cyrene.

May the Hearts of Jesus and Mary Bless You.

China: Bishop Arrested

Published: August 24, 2007

Bishop Jia Zhiguo, the underground Roman Catholic bishop of the Zheng Ding Diocese in Hebei Province, was arrested, according to the Cardinal Kung Foundation, a group in Stamford, Conn., that promotes religious freedom for Catholics in China. It was the 11th time he has been arrested since the beginning of 2004; he previously served 20 years in prison. Underground and state-sanctioned Catholic churches operate separately in China, with underground churches as targets of repression that varies from province to province.

Facts about the Bishop:

  • Bishop Jia Zhigo is 73 years old.
  • Bishop in China since 1980.
  • 20 year sentence was for his religious activities.
  • He is for the most part always under house arrest.
  • He is seized before religious feasts: Christmas, Epiphany, Easter, Pentecost, and Assumption.
  • He is seized and forced to submit to indoctrination to prevent celebration and gathering of underground Christians.

From Linda:

The struggle of our Catholic brother and sister’s yet continues in China. We need to stand along side them in prayer, solidarity, and sacrifice.

May the Hearts of Jesus and Mary Bless You.
