March for Life 2009/Media

Entrusting My Words to the Holy Spirit

Prayers of St John the Baptist

Linda Mary Liotino

Yesterday was the 2009 March for Life and it was very heartening to see the many people taking part in the march especially the young adults.  It also was amazing to hear the testimonies of the groups in schools and colleges, which not only meet but actively go out and take action in various degrees for the plight of the Unborn.

The down side of all this was the coverage the march did not get from main stream American Media.  One has to ask who controls our lives obliviously the media, which makes decisions in what is reported and what is not.  Frankly,
allot about how this country operates and as its citizen feeling like a puppet and being manipulated by the government, society, and the mass media.  Why is this allowed?   We
allow the injustice and our freedoms to be kick around told what we are to believe, what is right according to the laws on the books in this country, and too many of us just won’t show courage and push back.  However, we have come to expect this behavior from the secular media.

As I watched the March I flipped the channels to the Christian channels the biggest one being TBN [Trinity Broadcast Network] and smaller satellite ministries not so much as a blip about the march.  It was programming as usual.  This is sickening if the Christian media won’t support the march for the Unborn no wonder this is a fight to win has gone on this long.  Where much is given much is required, seemly that is lost in many hearts.

However, thank God for EWTN [Eternal Word Television Network].  The Catholic Network carried the coverage from start to finish and is re-airing the March 2009 for Life during the course of this week.  EWTN not only televised the March but also the Vigil Mass the night before and the Mass the morning of the march.  If it were not for EWTN unless you were at the march nothing would have been said or the coverage provided from them would not have been seen.   This from EWTN is NOT a one shot deal it provides many programs throughout the year on the plight of the Unborn on many levels and situations.  Mother Angelica’s yes to God beginning this network and her tired less work to make this Catholic Christian Network what it is today epitomizes the words where much is given much is required.

May the hearts of Jesus and Mary Bless You

Friends,Romans and Countrymen-
I was born in Montreal  in the year of our Lord
of 1962.I’m a bilingual Canadian, fluent in both of  Canada’s
official languages of Francais and English. Grew up mostly in Montreal and a couple years in Belleville, Ontario. From the age of 17yrs old  and on I
lived to and fro the east & west coast.

I’ve  always been artistically inclined with a boundless
childlike imagination.I began my adventure with painting in around
1998.I have no training or schooling in the arts.Being a quadriplegic
my brush stroke is much different then an able body person.
My stroke is done with the full movement my arm as opposed to using
my hands.I use a special glove that can I can insert a paint brush and
the stroke my arm to create the  movement.Needless to say it is very
difficult to put in fine details in my work with this method.Never the
less it is not perfection as understood conventually that I am
trying to achieve in my work.

I find it hard to describe my work, only to say its an
exploration into different styles,I tend to use mostly acrylics but use
alot of different techniques and mediums,my general approach is just
to have fun. These days I would describe it as folk art, figurative and
a touch of abstract.
